Jakob Vicari freelances as a creative technologist and science journalist. He writes reports for magazines and develops journalistic prototypes in the Journalism of Things. In 2015, Vicari won the MIZ Format Festival with Sensorstory and was named Science Journalist of the Year 2015 for the idea by a 60-member jury of Medium magazine. He developed the smart news furniture sMirror, produced the sensor experiment Supekühe and is working with tactile.news to bring children’s news to toys. He is the author of the book ‘Journalism of Things. Strategies for Journalism 4.0’. He is a co-inventor of JoT-CoN.

Due to COVID-19, the Journalism of Things Conference 2021 will take place via Zoom. Participants will receive access details by email. There are two types of ticket: Basic Ticket, which entitles you to use all streams; or Plus Ticket, where holders get a hardware package with which they can immediately start tinkering in the workshops.
